Bristol City have completed the signing of highly-rated defender Gracie Pearse from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Robins announced the transfer via an update on their official club website. Pearse joins Bristol City on loan and she will spend the remainder of the season at The Robins High Performance Centre.
The defender spent her youth on the books at Arsenal before joining latest club Spurs in summer 2021. Pearse has gone on to make three senior appearances for The Lilywhites.
Game time with Spurs has been limited therefore Pearse has been gaining experience out on loan. Prior to her latest loan move to Bristol City, the youngster represented Crystal Palace. Pearse made 19 appearances for The Eagles in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season while she scored one goal. The defender will be hoping to pick up from where she left off in the second tier with new club Bristol City.
After joining The Robins, Pearse said “I’m really excited. I think it’s going to be a great experience for me to come to a new club, meet new people and live in a different part of the country.
“Bristol City are doing really well at the moment in the Championship with the results they have picked up so far and it’s a progressive club which can hopefully benefit my development as a player.
“Only being 20-year-old and a centre-half, it’s important that I can get as much pitch time as possible and hopefully, that’s something I can do here at Bristol City, and contribute to a successful season for the club.”
Pearse could make her debut for Bristol City when they take on Coventry United at The Robins High Performance Centre on 15 January 2023.
