Coventry United have completed the signing of forward Eleanor Ryan-Doyle on a loan deal from their Barclays Women’s Championship rivals Birmingham City.
The Red and Greens announced the news this evening via a post on their official club Twitter account.
The 24-year-old will spend the second half of the season on loan at the Butts Park Arena and she will try to help Coventry United to avoid relegation to the FA Women’s National League.
Ryan-Doyle started her senior playing career back home in the Republic of Ireland with Peamount United. The forward then spent a short period with UCD Waves before returning to Peamount United for a second spell. Ryan-Doyle gained experience of playing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in her time with The Peas while she won two Women’s National League titles, two FAI Women’s Cups and the WNL Cup.
Ahead of the 2021/2022 season, Ryan-Doyle joined Birmingham City. The player made 16 appearances for the Blues last season in all competitions, scoring two goals but she was unable to help keep the club in the top tier. The forward has made just four more appearances for Darren Carter’s side this season.
Ryan-Doyle will now be aiming for more regular game time in her loan spell with Coventry United.
