Blackburn Rovers have agreed a contract extension with Chloe Dixon.
Rovers announced the news this morning via a squad update on their official club website. It has been reported that Dixon has agreed professional terms with the Lancashire club.
The 26-year-old is currently in her second spell at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium after re-joining Blackburn Rovers in the summer. Dixon initially spent last season with Gemma Donnelly’s side but left the club due to work commitments. The player’s Rovers absence was short-lived with Dixon finding a way to return to the club for the 2022/2023 campaign.
Last season saw Dixon make 19 appearances for Blackburn Rovers in the Barclays Women’s Championship. She scored her only goal on her debut as Blackburn Rovers defeated Dixon’s former club Sheffield United. Dixon has only made one league appearance for her club this season but she offers manager Donnelly plenty of versatility and her involvement could increase in the second half of the campaign.
Blackburn Rovers return to action tomorrow following the mid-season break when they take on Barclays Women’s Championship rivals Sunderland in the third round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. Dixon will be hoping to help her side to win the game and set up a glamour fourth round tie against Manchester United.
