No Arsenal move for Brazilian international forward Debinha

Brazilian international forward Debinha will not be moving to Barclays Women’s Super League club Arsenal this month.

The 31-year-old was heavily linked with a move to North London after leaving latest club North Carolina Courage, however, it has now been confirmed that Debinha won’t be moving to England with the player having agreed to remain in the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with Kansas City Current.

The 2021 NWSL expansion team announced the news that they have signed Debinha via a post on their official club Twitter account this afternoon.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall could still bring an attacking player to the club this month with The Gunners having lost both Vivianne Miedema and Beth Mead to Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries during the first half of the season. Eidevall has signed two players so far in the current transfer window, both of which are most at home in midfield. Arsenal signed Ajax midfielder Victoria Pelova last week before adding FC Nordsjælland star Kathrine Kühl to their squad at the weekend.

This was always going to be a busy January for Arsenal in terms of their recruitment and there will be more twists and turns before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
