Manchester City goalkeeper Khiara Keating has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Coventry United on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Cityzens confirmed the news via a squad update on their official club website this evening. The 18-year-old is set to begin her second spell away from The Academy Stadium with the player having previously signed dual-registration terms with third tier side AFC Fylde last season.
Keating already has some Barclays Women’s Super League experience under her belt. The player stepped up to make three appearances for Manchester City in the top flight last season with the club battling an injury crisis. Keating needs some regular game time to develop further and she will now get that in the second tier with struggling Coventry United.
The keeper is the sixth new addition at Coventry United in the January transfer window. She joins defender Rachel Newborough, midfielders Lucy Whipp and Morgan Cross and attackers Eleanor Ryan-Doyle and Ellen Jones in signing on at the Butts Park Arena.
In other news, Coventry United have confirmed that full-back Evie Gane has left the club by mutual consent. The defender joined The Warwickshire outfit at the start of the season and she went on to make five appearances for Coventry United in all competitions.
