Departing Coventry United defender Wilcox joins Boldmere St Michaels

Departing Coventry United defender Anna Wilcox has completed a move to FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club Boldmere St Michaels.

The Mikes announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club Twitter account just a short time ago.

Wilcox joins Boldmere St Michaels on a free transfer after recently stepping down from her position as a player at Barclays Women’s Championship club Coventry United. The defender will continue to work with The Red and Greens in an off-field capacity as their Community Officer.

The player made more than 100 appearances for Coventry United in all competitions. Wilcox has represented the Warwickshire club on 28 occasions in the Barclays Women’s Championship, the elite level of the women’s game. Her second tier playing experience could be hugely important as new club Boldmere St Michaels look to avoid relegation from the third tier. The Mikes are two points above the relegation zone in what is an extremely competitive FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division.

Boldmere St Michaels are enjoying their first season at FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division level. The club won promotion from the fourth tier in April. They have put up a great fight so far this season and have put down some solid foundations to build upon.
