PREVIEW: Chelsea v Liverpool

Chelsea and Liverpool will go again when they meet at Kingsmeadow in the fourth round of this season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The two clubs were set to also contest a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at the same venue last weekend. The game controversially went ahead following an early morning pitch inspection but was suspended after just six minutes of play with the ground deemed to be still frozen. With temperatures having risen, this weekend’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie will go ahead.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes will again be without Danish international attacking midfielder Pernille Harder for her side’s latest fixture with the player still recovering from surgery. Kateřina Svitková has been struggling with a knee injury and is out while Ève Périsset is also unavailable.

Liverpool goalkeeper Rylee Foster and forward Leanne Kiernan continue to be sidelined with their respective injuries. Shanice van de Sanden is also set to miss out with an injury sustained from the dangerous conditions at Kingsmeadow last weekend while Katie Stengel will be assessed.

The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie between Chelsea and Liverpool is scheduled to kick-off at 1pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
