FA CUP DRAW: Chelsea face tough trip to Aston Villa in the semi-finals

Vitality Women’s FA Cup holders Chelsea face a tough tie at Aston Villa in the semi-finals of this season’s competition.

The semi-final draw took place on BBC One’s Morning Live show this morning with England legend Sue Smith overseeing proceedings.

Vitality Women’s FA Cup holders Chelsea’s reward for winning their quarter-final tie against Reading is an incredibly tough semi-final tie at Aston Villa. The Villans caused the shock of the quarter-finals, defeating Manchester City 2-1 after extra-time at The Poundland Bescot Stadium.

The other semi-final tie sees Manchester United play host to Brighton & Hove Albion. The winner of that tie will qualify for a first-ever Vitality Women’s FA Cup final. Manchester United defeated second tier club Lewes 3-1 in the quarter-finals while Brighton & Hove Albion were 2-0 winners at Birmingham City.

The two semi-final ties are scheduled to be played over the weekend of 15-16 April 2023. Final dates, kick-off times and ticket details will be announced in due course.
