PREVIEW: Chelsea v Lyon

Chelsea will be hoping to record another positive result against European champions Lyon when the two sides contest the second leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final tie at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening.

The Blues lead 1-0 from the first leg at the Groupama Stadium. Guro Reiten’s excellent first half strike was the difference in the South of France a week ago.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes continues to have concerns over the fitness of defender Millie Bright who is carrying a knock. The player has not trained ahead of her side’s latest fixture and she remains a doubt. The Blues continue to be without the services of long-term absentees Pernille Harder and Kateřina Svitková while there is no update on the fitness of Fran Kirby.

Lyon head coach Sonia Bompastor could opt to select forward Ada Hegerberg following her recent return from long-term injury. French international attacker Melvine Malard will also be named in the matchday squad. Les Fenottes continue to be without Griedge Mbock Bathy, Amandine Henry and Catarina Macario for the foreseeable future.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final, second leg tie between Chelsea and Lyon kicks-off at 8pm on Thursday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
