Tottenham Hotspur captain Shelina Zadorsky has revealed that she has been battling some mental and physical health challenges since last December.
The 30-year-old Canadian international centre-back has spent the last two months on the sidelines. Spurs have undoubtedly missed Zadorsky with the club still looking to string together some positive results in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Zadorsky has revealed that she has twice tested positive for COVID-19 in the last four months, putting a strain on both her mental and physical health. The player first tested positive during the December fixture block before contracting the virus again in mid-February. Zadorsky has had some severe symptoms to the virus, meaning that she has had to take some time to rest and recover.
COVID-19 has not been the only health issue which Zadorsky has had to face. She has also been suffering from glandular fever and Coeliac’s disease.
The defender has today updated fans on her health via a video posted on her personal Twitter account.
