Everton defender Megan Finnigan has signed a new long-term contract with the Merseyside club until summer 2026.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blue Girls this afternoon.
Finnigan has been with Everton since the age of nine. The player successfully graduated from the club’s academy system and she has gone on to play a hugely important role at first team level.
In her time in the senior side at Everton, Finnigan was a FAWSL 2 Spring Series winner with the club back in 2017 while she was a member of the team which were Vitality Women’s FA Cup finalists in 2019/2020.
After extending her contract with Everton, Finnigan said “I’m delighted. I’ve been here for a very long time and this contract will extend that stay even further.
“Anyone who knows me knows how much I love this club.
“With the length of the contract I’ve signed, that tells me how much the Club values me and wants me, which is massive as a player.
“I’m so thankful I have been able to achieve my dream of being a footballer and for it to be at Everton.”
Finnigan will return to action with Everton after the international break. The Blue Girls travel to Brighton & Hove Albion for their next match on Wednesday 19 April 2023.
