PREVIEW: Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion

Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion will be aiming to qualify for a first Vitality Women’s FA Cup final when the pair contest their semi-final tie at the Leigh Sports Village on Saturday evening.

Neither team have ever played at Wembley therefore this weekend’s tie provides the perfect opportunity for one club to create new history.

As the current Barclays Women’s Super League leaders, Manchester United go into the tie as the strong favourites. Head coach Marc Skinner is not expected to have any fresh injury concerns to contend with. Defender Maria Thorisdottir is sidelined for the remainder of the season while midfielder Lisa Naalsund is at least a month away from regaining fitness.

New Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Melissa Phillips will take charge of the team for the first time at the Leigh Sports Village. The Seagulls continue to be without the services of long-term absentees Dejana Stefanović and Maisie Symonds. The current condition of Guro Bergsvand and Kayleigh Green is not known.
