PREVIEW: Manchester City v Reading

The Barclays Women’s Super League’s fixture calendar has thrown up another huge match with Manchester City set to face Reading at The Academy Stadium this afternoon.

The Cityzens are one of four clubs who are battling for the Barclays Women’s Super League title while Reading go into the game bottom of the table following Leicester City’s 4-0 victory over Liverpool yesterday. The games are running out for The Royals as they look to avoid the drop.

Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor continues to be without goalkeeper Sandy MacIver and defender Laia Aleixandri for his side’s latest match. The pair won’t return to action before the end of the season. Alanna Kennedy remains sidelined but Ellie Roebuck and Lauren Hemp are fit to feature in the matchday squad.

Reading manager Kelly Chambers is again expected to be without the services of Canadian international attacker Deanne Rose, although the player is rebuilding her fitness. Jackie Burns and Deanna Cooper remain sidelined with their respective injuries while the condition of Lily Woodham and Jade Moore is not known.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester City and Reading is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm. Tickets remain on general sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
