Chelsea will be hoping to keep the pressure on their Barclays Women’s Super League title rivals when they face Everton at Kingsmeadow on Sunday evening.
The Blues are four points adrift of top spot but they do have two games-in-hand on the sides above them in the table. Despite playing catch up, Emma Hayes’ side remain the favourites to win the Barclays Women’s Super League title this season.
Chelsea manager Hayes will again be unable to call upon the services of both Millie Bright and Fran Kirby. Bright is still in rehabilitation while Kirby’s knee injury has needed surgery. Kadeisha Buchanan is also not yet fit to return. The Blues will assess the condition of Maren Mjelde ahead of the game while Kateřina Svitková is rebuilding her fitness.
Everton defender Gabby George has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the season and is therefore not available for selection. Manager Brian Sørensen has confirmed that there is some sickness in the camp and that a couple of players are carrying knocks.
The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Chelsea and Everton is scheduled to kick-off at 6.45pm on Sunday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
