PREVIEW: Brighton & Hove Albion v Arsenal

Arsenal will be hoping to keep their slim Barclays Women’s Super League title hopes alive when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at Broadfield Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners are playing catch up with their domestic fixtures following their extended run in this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League. Jonas Eidevall’s side are nine points adrift of the league summit but they do have two games-in-hand on leaders Manchester United.

Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Melissa Phillips will take careful action with goalkeeper Lydia Williams who is managing an ankle problem going into the Arsenal game. Park Ye-eun and Victoria Williams were notable absentees from The Seagulls’ squad for the West Ham United game on Sunday.

Arsenal head coach Eidevall is expected to check in on the fitness of Steph Catley, Lina Hurtig and Caitlin Foord ahead of his side’s latest match. Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema, Leah Williamson and Laura Wienroither are all sidelined with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries while Kim Little won’t return to action until next season.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Brighton & Hove Albion and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 7.30pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
