PREVIEW: Chelsea v Manchester United

Chelsea and Manchester United will hope to entertain a near-90,000 capacity crowd at Wembley Stadium this afternoon when they contest the 2022/2023 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final.

The game was sold out well in advance of matchday with Chelsea and Manchester United fans, along with football fans in general keen to see two of the best sides in the country go head-to-head for domestic silverware. Chelsea are the four-time winners of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup and are the current holders while opponents Manchester United are set to contest their first-ever major domestic cup final.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of the match. Defender Millie Bright and attacker Fran Kirby are both out with long-term injuries but otherwise, The Blues are in good health. Kadeisha Buchanan and Kateřina Svitková both returned to the squad for the midweek victory over Leicester City and are available for selection.

Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has good squad availability going into his side’s first cup final. Defender Maria Thorisdottir is out until next season and is expected to be The Red Devils’ only absentee. Captain Katie Zelem will return following suspension while Lisa Naalsund is rebuilding her fitness.

The 2022/2023 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final kicks-off at 2.30pm.
