Aston Villa midfielder Remi Allen will leave the club at the end of the season when her current contract comes to an end.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this afternoon.
Allen has spent the last two seasons with Aston Villa after joining the club in summer 2021. The player has gone on to make 23 appearances for The Villans in all competitions during her time at The Poundland Bescot Stadium. Allen sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in the second half of last season and she was sidelined for 13 months as a direct result. The midfielder recently returned to full fitness and she has appeared in Aston Villa’s matchday squad in recent weeks.
The 32-year-old has a wealth of experience in the game and she can still do a job at the top level. Allen is not expected to be short of offers for her services this summer. The player has turned out for Leicester City, Notts County, Birmingham City, Reading and Aston Villa in her career to date.
Aston Villa have two games left to play in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League and Allen will be hoping to make some contribution.
