Chelsea could be on the brink of winning the Barclays Women’s Super League title if they defeat London rivals Arsenal at Kingsmeadow on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues currently lead second-placed Manchester United by two points with two games left to play. Chelsea could be champions this weekend if they beat Arsenal and Manchester United fail to defeat neighbours Manchester City at the Leigh Sports Village.
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes is not thought to have any fresh injury concerns going into her side’s latest match. The Blues remain without long-term absentees Fran Kirby and Millie Bright. Captain Magda Eriksson and attacker Pernille Harder will appear at Kingsmeadow for the final time in their Chelsea careers with the pair set to leave the club in the summer.
Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall continues to be without a number of players through injury. Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema, Leah Williamson and Laura Wienroither are all nursing Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries while Kim Little and Lia Wälti are out for the season. Forward Lina Hurtig will be assessed ahead of kick-off.
The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Chelsea and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm on Sunday afternoon. The game is a complete sell-out with no further tickets expected to become available.
