Long-serving Aston Villa pair Sian Rogers and Elisha N’Dow will be released by the club this summer when their contracts come to an end.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this evening.
Neither player featured for Aston Villa this season with both being out of favour at The Poundland Bescot Stadium. The pair enjoyed season-long loan spells at Barclays Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic.
Goalkeeper Rogers has been on Aston Villa’s books for the last six years while defender N’Dow has spent her entire senior career with The Villans. The pair were promotion winners with the club in 2019/2020 when Aston Villa were awarded the Barclays Women’s Championship title on a points-per-game basis. While Rogers and N’Dow have had to go out on loan to play regular football, they have written themselves into the history books as Aston Villa legends.
Rogers and N’Dow’s next career moves are not known, however, it seems likely that the pair are destined for more Barclays Women’s Championship football. Their performances at loan club Charlton Athletic will have done their chances of being offered contracts no harm, although it’d be no surprise if they have several admirers.
