Charlton Athletic have announced the news that four players are leaving the club at the end of their contracts this summer.
The Addicks revealed their released list via an update on their official club website this afternoon.
Forward Lauren Bruton’s departure had already been confirmed, however, Charlton Athletic have also announced the news that Alex Hennessy, Corinne Henson and Emma Follis are moving on.
After two injury-hit years with The Addicks, forward Bruton is retiring from playing. Hennessy, Henson and Follis will all take on new challenges in 2023/2024. The quartet featured heavily for the South East Londoners this season, making 55 appearances between them in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
Following today’s news, Charlton Athletic head coach Karen Hills said “I would like to offer my deepest thanks to Alex, Corinne, Emma and Lauren for all their efforts on and off the pitch and their contribution to Charlton Athletic.
“Alex and Corinne are both young, exciting footballers who I am sure will flourish wherever they go next.
“Emma has been involved in the Women’s Super League and Championship for numerous years and she imposed her wealth of knowledge and experience whilst at the club.
“Lauren’s time at Charlton has been challenging for her due to ongoing injury issues. However, she’s always been focused on helping me grow this project. I have no doubt Lauren will reflect on her playing career and can be very proud of what she has achieved and learned about herself. I wish her well as a player but also as a friend.”
Further squad updates will be announced by Charlton Athletic in due course.
