Lewes’ midfield duo Hazard and Palmer sign on for 2023/2024

Lewes have announced the news that midfield pair Amelia Hazard and Grace Palmer have agreed to stay on at The Dripping Pan next season.

The Rookettes made the announcement via a post on their official club website this morning.

Both players were heavily used by Lewes boss Scott Booth this season. Hazard was an ever-present for the Sussex club, scoring one goal in 22 Barclays Women’s Championship appearances while teammate Palmer was handed 19 league outings for The Rookettes. The teenager also netted once in league competition.

Hazard has been one of the most important players for Lewes in her two seasons at The Dripping Pan. She has been a model of consistency and she is yet to miss a league match. At the age of 22, there is plenty more to come from the player and it is Lewes who will be hoping to reap the rewards.

The 2022/2023 season brought a first campaign of senior football for former Chelsea youngster Palmer. She has eased into life as a Barclays Women’s Championship player and has an exciting future ahead.

Hazard and Palmer join first-choice goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse in committing their immediate futures to Lewes. Further squad news is expected to be announced by the club tomorrow morning.
