Crystal Palace keeper Kitching signs new one-year deal

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Fran Kitching has signed a one-year contract extension ahead of the 2023/2024 season.

The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

Kitching joined Crystal Palace last summer and she became a member of the club’s first-ever full-time professional team. The keeper made 21 appearances for the South Londoners in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season, keeping seven clean sheets in the process. Kitching’s good performances in-between the sticks resulted in her being named Crystal Palace’s Player of the season.

The 25-year-old is a hugely important player for Crystal Palace and her contract extension is good news for the club.

After committing her future to the South Londoners, Kitching said “It feels amazing to sign a new contract at Palace. It’s a great moment for me and my family – I feel right at home here, and can’t wait to build on all the progress made last season.

“I really enjoyed my first season at Palace. I love my team and had a lot of personal success which has built my confidence. I hope to help the team as much as possible and keep progressing as a player and person. I can’t wait to get going again.”

Crystal Palace remain in negotiations with a number of other players over their immediate futures.
