Everton have completed the signing of Italian international forward Martina Piemonte on a two-year deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Merseyside club earlier today.
Piemonte joins Everton after spending the last two seasons with Serie A Femminile TIM club AC Milan. The forward netted 17 league goals in 32 outings for the Italian side. The 25-year-old has also played for several other clubs including Sevilla, AS Roma, Real Betis and Fiorentina.
On the international stage, Piemonte has been capped by Italy on 13 occasions at senior level.
Piemonte becomes the second Italian international to play in England with the player joining national team colleague Aurora Galli at Everton.
After joining The Blue Girls, Piemonte said “I am so happy to be here. What I want to achieve is to put Everton in a position to win, working together with the manager and everyone else at the Club.
“I think Everton are investing in women’s football. They did well this year and will want to do even better in the future. I will also have the opportunity to play in one of the best leagues in the world.”
Piemonte has become Everton’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
