Lewes forward Pursey signs new deal

Lewes have confirmed the news that forward Valentine Pursey has signed a new deal with the club ahead of the 2023/2024 season.

The Rooks announced the player’s new deal via a post on their official club website this morning.

Pursey joined Lewes in the January transfer window following a brief spell in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division with Gillingham Women. The forward went on to make five appearances for Lewes in the Barclays Women’s Championship. Pursey has found herself named amongst the Lewes substitutes so far in her career at The Dripping Pan and she will be hoping for more minutes after signing her new deal.

After signing on again with The Rooks, Pursey said “I am really excited to continue my journey as a Rook!

“I can’t wait to get the season going, keep pushing for change off the pitch, and score some goals on it.”

Seven players have now opted to sign contract extensions with Lewes this summer. Sophie Whitehouse, Amelia Hazard, Grace Palmer, Ellie Hack, Emily Moore, Rhian Cleverly and Pursey are all onboard at The Dripping Pan for 2023/2024. Head coach Scott Booth has also brought five new players into the club with further arrivals expected.
