Joel stays at London City Lionesses while Scofield signs on

London City Lionesses full-back Lois Joel has agreed a contract extension while the club have also signed midfielder Connie Scofield.

The Pride informed FAWSL Full-Time of both deals via official club press releases earlier today.

Joel joined London City Lionesses last summer after leaving West Ham United. The player made 19 appearances for The Pride in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season. Joel has today agreed to extend her stay with London City Lionesses for another year. She becomes the first player to commit her future to the club since new head coach Carolina Morace was appointed a couple of weeks ago.

Morace has also completed her first transfer as London City Lionesses head coach. The Italian has added former Leicester City midfielder Connie Scofield to her squad for the upcoming season. Scofield has eight years of experience playing with top tier clubs. She spent a chunk of last season in the second tier at Coventry United where she made eight appearances.

The squad news is expected to come thick and fast at London City Lionesses in the coming days with the club ready to announce details of their 2023/2024 squad. A number of players were out of contract at the end of last season and it will be fascinating to see how many changes have been made over the summer.
