London City Lionesses sign former Reading forward Alexander

London City Lionesses have completed the signing of former Reading forward Tinaya Alexander on a free transfer.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this evening.

The 24-year-old forward has signed a one-year contract at Princes Park. She becomes the third new signing at London City Lionesses so far this summer.

Alexander enjoyed two spells with Reading. She came through the youth ranks at the Berkshire club before returning in January. The forward has also played for LSU Tigers, Washington Spirit and Montpellier HSC.

The forward has had some bad luck with injuries of late but she will be hoping to make an impact with her new club.

After joining London City Lionesses, Alexander said “I was drawn to London City because of the coaching staff at the Club.

“I visited the training ground [before signing] and I felt like they really knew what they were talking about. Carolina [Morace] has a good resume and has coached at a high level, it’s a big thing that she coached a men’s team. Nicola [Williams] has lots of experience and a good career too. They both seemed really keen, which made me want to sign here.”

Alexander’s signing was announced just hours after full-back Grace Neville extended her contract with London City Lionesses.
