Manchester United midfielder Keira Barry has signed her first professional contract with the club.
The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Barry has come through the Manchester United youth ranks and she has been a regular for the club at WSL Academy League level in recent seasons. The midfielder made her senior debut for The Red Devils last season in a FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup group stage match against Sheffield United at the Leigh Sports Village.
The 18-year-old is one of a handful of exciting young players to be coming out of the Manchester United academy system and the club have moved quickly to retain her services on a professional basis ahead of the new season.
After signing her professional deal, Barry said “I’m over the moon to sign professionally here and cannot wait to get going. Having come through United’s Academy, to now sign pro at this great club, is a really proud day for me and my family.”
Barry is the second academy graduate to sign professional terms with Manchester United this summer. Alyssa Aherne has also agreed a professional deal with the club after impressing at WSL Academy League level.
