Tottenham Hotspur sign Czech international keeper Votíková

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Czech Republic international goalkeeper Barbora Votíková on a two-year deal.

The Lilywhites confirmed the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Votíková joins Spurs off the back of a two-year spell playing in the French top flight with Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old was used as the primary goalkeeper in her first year in the French capital before playing a much lesser role for the club last season, a long-term injury not helping her cause. Votíková made 22 appearances for The Parisians in total in which she kept 13 clean sheets.

The player has also represented Czech clubs Viktoria Plzeň and Slavia Prague in her career to date.

On the international stage, Votíková has been capped by the Czech Republic on 38 occasions at senior level. She has spent the best part of a decade in and around the Czech national team.

Votíková joins Spurs less than 24 hours after Finnish international midfielder Olga Ahtinen completed her move to North London. New Spurs head coach Robert Vilahamn has now signed four players in the summer transfer window.

Spurs kick-off the new Barclays Women’s Super League season against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 1 October 2023.
