Sheffield United’s teenage forward Muir signs new deal

Sheffield United’s teenage forward Chenè Muir has signed a new contract with the club.

The Blades announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 17-year-old has been in and around the Sheffield United squad for the last 18 months. She made 18 appearances for The Blades in last season’s Barclays Women’s Championship. The player has a big future ahead of her and she will be hoping to continue to shine with The Blades this season.

After signing her new deal, Muir said “I’m delighted to be a Sheffield United player again this season. I’m looking forward to how the season goes and I’m looking forward to getting into the games.

“I feel I improved massively last season, just getting used to the experience and the physicality and I’m really looking forward to this season.”

Muir will turn 18 years of age during the 2023/2024 season and the club have indicated that the forward will sign her first professional deal at Bramall Lane when she hits that milestone.

Sheffield United kick-off the new Barclays Women’s Championship season with a fixture against Charlton Athletic at The Valley on Sunday afternoon. The Blades will be quietly confident going into the new season.
