Aston Villa have completed the signing of their former player Ebony Salmon on a three-year contract.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this evening.
The forward joins Aston Villa from American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Houston Dash. Salmon has spent the last two years Stateside with the player having also turned out for Racing Louisville.
Salmon spent her youth with Aston Villa before going on to feature for the club at senior level in 2017/2018. The player then joined Manchester United before finding her goalscoring form at Bristol City. Salmon has also had a brief loan spell at Sheffield United earlier in her career where she was a regular goalscorer.
After securing Salmon’s services for Aston Villa, head coach Carla Ward said “Ebony is someone I’ve worked with before and is someone with huge potential. She’s got pace, power and the ability to change a game.
“She’s a player who will add even more competition to our front-line and will be a great addition to the group.”
Salmon becomes Aston Villa boss Ward’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window. The Villans are looking incredibly strong going into the new season.
