Arsenal trio Vivianne Miedema, Laura Wienroither and Leah Williamson are all making good progress as they look to recover from Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries.
The Gunners have provided injury updates on all three players in recent days and there is plenty of positive news.
Dutch international forward Miedema participated in her first training session back with the team earlier today. The striker has been out of action since mid-December but she is now heading into the final stages of her rehabilitation.
Austrian defender Wienroither sustained her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in early May. Today marked the player’s return to light gym work on the treadmill. She will now build up her work in the gym before returning to the grass. Wienroither won’t return to competitive action until early next year.
England captain Williamson picked up her injury just weeks before Wienroither. The player was pictured in the gym last week and she will also continue to build her fitness in that space before pushing herself on the training pitch.
Five Arsenal players have been recovering from Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in total. Forward Beth Mead should be fit to start the season while youngster Teyah Goldie is still in the very early stages of her rehabilitation.
