Manchester United have completed the signing of French international forward Melvine Malard on a season-long loan deal from Lyon.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this afternoon.
Malard arrives at Manchester United after winning four UEFA Women’s Champions League titles with Lyon along with a whole host of domestic honours. The player has made more than a century of appearances for the French giants in all competitions.
On the international stage, Malard has 21 senior caps to her name for France while she has netted six goals. She represented Les Bleues at last summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO in England.
After completing her loan move to Manchester United, Malard said “I am truly very happy to be here, and to join this club and this city. I cannot wait to meet the fans and get started.”
Commenting on his latest transfer deal, Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner added “Melvine’s honours speak for themselves, and we are delighted to welcome a proven winner at domestic and European level to our Manchester United family. Melvine will no doubt excite our fans and bring a fluid attacking quality to our team.”
The Red Devils have now announced four Transfer Deadline Day deals.
