London City Lionesses sign Canadian centre-back Culver

London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Canadian centre-back Paige Culver on a one-year contract.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.

Culver has plenty of experience in the European game having spent the majority of her career playing in that part of the world. The 26-year-old has played in Italy, France, Sweden and Germany in her career to date. Culver was most recently playing in the FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga with 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam.

The defender will now test herself in England with new club London City Lionesses.

After joining The Pride, Culver said “England is such a growing environment for women’s football and it felt like a really exciting opportunity when I spoke with the coaches about the project they are working on here.

“I’m a big communicator, which is one of my strong suits. I like to lead on the field because I’m able to see the whole pitch as a centre-back. I like to distribute possession, so hopefully that’s something I can bring that will help contribute to the success of the team.”

Culver is available to make her London City Lionesses debut when they travel to Durham on Sunday.
