Everton’s teenage pair Abby Clarke and Annie Wilding have signed their first professional contracts with the Merseyside club.
The Blue Girls announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier this morning.
Both players have come through Everton’s academy system. Manager Brian Sørensen fielded Clarke and Wilding for the first time as Everton lost 1-0 at home to Durham in last season’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup. Clarke also went on to make one substitute appearance for the Merseyside club in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
The pair are highly-rated by Everton and they will now continue their development with the club after signing professional deals.
Commenting on the news, Everton manager Sørensen said “I’m delighted both Abby and Annie have signed their first professional contracts with the Club.
“Both of them have worked hard to secure these deals. They know there is more work ahead of them but they have talent and the right character to push on. My coaching staff and I are looking forward to working more with both players.”
Everton kick-off the new Barclays Women’s Super League season with a home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion at Walton Hall Park on Sunday afternoon.
