Crystal Palace defender Sibley signs new deal

Crystal Palace full-back Isabella Sibley has signed a contract extension with the club after overcoming a long-term injury which has kept her sidelined for nine months.

The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 23-year-old made a bright start to last season before sustaining an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. Sibley has completed her rehabilitation with the support of the club and she has now been awarded a new contract.

Sibley has made 15 appearances for Crystal Palace in the Barclays Women’s Championship to date while she has scored one goal. The player is rated highly and she could have a big future ahead of her in the elite game. Sibley will be pleased to now have the opportunity to make up for lost time with Crystal Palace in the remainder of this season.

After signing her new deal with the South Londoners, Sibley said “I’m ecstatic to be staying with Palace. There are big ambitions in the team and at the club itself, so I’m very happy to be signing on with the club for a bit longer.”

Crystal Palace have reported that Sibley has returned to fitness and she will therefore be available for selection in the coming weeks.
