Everton manager Brian Sørensen says that his side must be more clinical after they were defeated 1-0 by Leicester City at The King Power Stadium.
The Blue Girls had five of the eight shots on target in the game but they walked away without anything to show for their efforts for the second time this season.
Everton are one of just three teams that are yet to collect a point in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League and manager Sørensen says that his side must be more clinical.
“There wasn’t much more that we could do other than put the ball in the back of the net,” Sørensen said when speaking to the media after his side’s defeat. “It wasn’t to be today for some reason.
“Last year, when we were here, we had a lot of chances (and failed to score) but I think we tipped the scale on that even more today.
“We have to be more clinical of course. One moment where we lose our balance, they go and score. That’s what can happen when you don’t take your chances.”
Sørensen went on to say that he sees it as a positive that his side got themselves into the right areas to score goals and have a chance of winning the game.
He said “We are getting into good situations, so that is a positive and we will focus on that.
“It is tough right now. I feel like we should have won or at least got a goal. We didn’t, so we regroup and look forward again.”
Everton are next in action on Wednesday evening when they face Manchester City in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup at Walton Hall Park.
