PREVIEW: Chelsea v West Ham United

Chelsea will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Barclays Women’s Super League when West Ham United provide the opposition at Kingsmeadow this evening.

The Blues were fortunate to take a point from their fixture at Manchester City last weekend. Guro Reiten equalised in the sixth minute of stoppage time as Chelsea battled out a 1-1 draw with a nine-player Manchester City side at the Joie Stadium. This evening’s opponents West Ham United are evolving under new manager Rehanne Skinner and they are already picking up some positive results.

Chelsea go into their latest match without the services of long-term absentees Kateřina Svitková and Catarina Macário. Blues boss Emma Hayes has confirmed that Mia Fishel and Reiten are also out, however, star striker Sam Kerr is available for selection.

West Ham United boss Skinner says that she has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of her side’s latest match. Jess Ziu continues to be sidelined with her long-term injury while Emma Snerle is not yet ready to return to the side.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Chelsea and West Ham United is scheduled to kick-off at 5.30pm this evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
