FEATURED: BK Häcken v Chelsea – Match Facts

Chelsea still have plenty to do to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals but they will be hoping to take another step forward when they travel to Gothenburg to face BK Häcken on Wednesday evening.

The Blues have five points from their three group stage matches so far. This week’s opponents BK Häcken are very much the team to beat with the Swedes having collected seven points, a tally that has left them top of the group.

Ahead of Chelsea’s latest European tie, WSL Full-Time have reviewed the UEFA match statistics. Here are three facts about The Blues’ fixture against BK Häcken.

Defeats few and far between for both clubs

BK Häcken go into their latest fixture on the back of a run which has seen them suffer defeat in just one of their last 12 matches in all competitions (W8, D3). Chelsea arrive in Sweden having lost just once in their last 21 matches in all competitions (W16, D4). The two sides couldn’t be separated in the reverse fixture with last week’s Stamford Bridge clash ending goalless.

Chelsea unbeaten against Swedish opposition

Chelsea have faced Swedish opposition on three occasions in European competition and they are yet to taste defeat. The Blues won both legs of their Round-16 tie against FC Rosengård in 2017/2018. Their only other fixture against a Swedish club was last week’s stalemate with BK Häcken at The Bridge.

BK Häcken have lost three of their five matches against English opposition. All three losses came under their previous name of Göteborg FC.

Augustyn and Chelsea meet again

Polish referee Ewa Augustyn will take charge of a Chelsea fixture in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the second time. She was the referee as The Blues recorded a 1-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital back in October 2022. Millie Bright netted the winning goal in the first half of that match.

Augustyn brandished two yellow cards in that match, one for each team. Chelsea’s Kadeisha Buchanan was booked in the first half.

Chelsea’s UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture against BK Häcken kicks-off at 8pm on Wednesday evening.
