Former Manchester City midfielder Katie Bradley has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer.
The Lancashire club announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Bradley joins Blackburn Rovers off the back of a three-and-a-half-year spell in the United States in which she combined playing football with her studies. The midfielder represented the UCF Knights during her time Stateside. In 2020/2021, Bradley was one of two freshman to start in all seven of the Knights’ fixtures while she was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team. The following year, Bradley was a virtual ever-present for the Knights, featuring in 18 matches.
Prior to her time in the United States, Bradley spent a period in the academy system at Manchester City. She was a member of the 2018 FA Women’s Youth Cup-winning side.
On the international stage, Bradley has represented England at various youth levels. She has featured for The Young Lionesses at the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship and the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship. The youngster is yet to break into the Under-23s set-up.
Bradley has become Blackburn Rovers head coach Simon Parker’s first signing of the January transfer window. It is unknown whether she will be available for selection for tomorrow’s Barclays Women’s Championship fixture at Charlton Athletic.
