Former Chelsea apprentice Nicole Douglas has joined London City Lionesses.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this evening.

Douglas spent her youth with The Blues before moving to the United States to combine playing football with her studies. The attacker represented Arizona State Sun Devils in the American college game before later going on to play for National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Washington Spirit.

The forward will now test herself in the senior game in England for the first time with London City Lionesses.

After joining The Pride, Douglas said “I’m so excited to be back on the pitch, my last game was in October. I feel like I’ve put myself in the best possible position to succeed and put in a lot of work to prepare for this moment.

“I’m really excited to get started with the team and hopefully help the Club as much as I can through the rest of the season.”

Douglas becomes London City Lionesses head coach Carolina Morace’s second signing of the January transfer window. The player is available for immediate selection starting with Wednesday night’s fixture against Crystal Palace in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup.
