Leicester City midfielder Robinson joins Burnley on loan

Leicester City’s teenage midfielder Monique Robinson has joined FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club Burnley on loan for the remainder of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this morning.

Robinson is a product of the Leicester City Women Academy Pathway. She has gone on to make 11 appearances for The Foxes in all competitions at senior level. Robinson has made the Leicester City bench on several occasions this season but she hasn’t featured in any more of the club’s matches and The Foxes have therefore allowed her to join third tier Burnley on loan to further her development.

After joining Burnley, Robinson told the club’s official media team “It’s a great club with big ambitions, so I’m buzzing to get started.

“I know the manager and she has got faith in me. I played with Kirstie (Levell) at Leicester too.

“I’m a very friendly person and I’m confident that I can fit into the group quickly ahead of our game against Newcastle United next weekend.”

Robinson’s loan move to Burnley was completed ahead of last night’s 11pm transfer deadline. Both clubs opted to announce the deal after the deadline had passed.
