Arsenal’s WSL fixture against Manchester United declared a sell-out

Arsenal’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester United has been declared a sell-out.

The Gunners face The Red Devils at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon in their latest league fixture.

Tickets for the match have been selling well for several weeks and Arsenal have this afternoon issued an official club press release confirming that the game is now sold out.

It is the first time that Arsenal have sold out the Emirates Stadium for a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture. December’s Barclays Women’s Super League game against Chelsea was close to a sell-out with a competition record crowd of 59,042 having attended that match. That attendance record could be beaten this weekend when Manchester United arrive in North London.

Speaking following this afternoon’s announcement, Arsenal Chief Executive, Vinai Venkatesham said “We are grateful for the incredible support we’ve had all season. Our supporters’ unwavering commitment and following, coupled with the performance of our team and the hard work of everyone behind the scenes at our club, has made this moment possible.

“The next step is delivering this on a consistent basis – not just at Emirates Stadium but across the league. We must continue to nurture this audience and deliver sustainable growth for the whole women’s game.”

Arsenal’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester United kicks-off at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
