Aston Villa defender Rachel Corsie has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this afternoon.
Corsie joined Aston Villa in summer 2022. The Scotland international has made 54 appearances for the club in all competitions. Corsie was a member of an Aston Villa side that recorded their highest-ever finish in the Barclays Women’s Super League last season.
The defender has featured in all-but-one of Aston Villa’s matches in the Barclays Women’s Super League this season and the club have moved to tie her down for another year.
After news of Corsie’s contract extension was announced, Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward said “Rachel is someone I’d previously worked with before her arrival at Aston Villa, and she has become a prominent figure within the playing squad ever since she joined us a couple of seasons ago.
“Her experience and leadership has played a hugely important part in our success in recent years and that will remain invaluable in 2024/2025.”
Corsie could make her final appearance of the season when Aston Villa take on Barclays Women’s Super League title hopefuls Manchester City at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
