West Ham United forward Asseyi signs new deal

West Ham United forward Viviane Asseyi has signed a contract extension with the club.

The Hammers announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Asseyi joined West Ham United from Bayern Munich in summer 2022. The forward has played in all of the club’s fixtures in the Barclays Women’s Super League in the last two seasons, scoring 12 goals. At the age of 30, Asseyi has bags of experience under her belt and that is something that has really helped a relatively young West Ham United team this season.

It is fair to say that Asseyi is a big player for West Ham United and the club will be pleased to have agreed a new deal with her.

After signing on again with The Hammers, Asseyi said “I’m really happy to extend my contract at West Ham United and continue playing in the WSL.

“It can sometimes be difficult for someone to feel at home in another country, but at West Ham, I feel like East London is home. I have great support from my teammates, from the staff and everyone involved at the Club. The fans support us home and away, and it feels like a big family.

“I love football – all I want to do is be on the pitch with the girls. I’m already excited to get back with the team in pre-season and for what I hope will be a really positive campaign next season.”

Asseyi is the second West Ham United player to sign a contract extension this summer.
