Swedish international forward Asllani joins London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses have announced the signing of Swedish international forward Kosovare Asllani on a free transfer.

The Pride revealed the transfer in an official club media session in London this afternoon.

Asllani will officially join the club on 1 July 2024. She has signed a two-year contract with London City Lionesses.

The 34-year-old attacker joins the Barclays Women’s Championship club after spending the last two years at AC Milan where she scored 15 goals. During her career, Asllani has won league titles with both Linköpings FC and Manchester City. 

Asllani is Sweden’s sixth most-capped player. She has won two Olympic Games Silver Medals and a FIFA Women’s World Cup Bronze Medal with her country.

After signing for London City Lionesses, Asllani said “I am delighted to join London City Lionesses and look forward to contributing towards the team’s success. I am so excited by the team’s aspirations and can’t wait to meet my teammates and the fans.

“We have the opportunity to write a new chapter in the Club’s history and our objective this season is to turn Michele’s vision into reality on the field.”

Asllani becomes London City Lionesses’ first signing of the summer transfer window. The club are set for an exciting summer as they begin to build their 2024/2025 squad.
