Charlton Athletic full-back Roe signs new one-year deal

Charlton Athletic full-back Beth Roe has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

The Addicks announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Roe initially joined Charlton Athletic on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2020/2021 season. The deal was made permanent at the end of the campaign. In her time in South East London, Roe has gone on to make 71 appearances in a Charlton Athletic shirt in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she has scored three goals.

The full-back performed well last season as Charlton Athletic went close to winning the Barclays Women’s Championship title and she will be keen to be on the top of her game again this season.

After signing her new deal at The Valley, Roe said “I’m delighted. I’ve been here for four seasons now, and it truly feels like home. After last year, we have unfinished business, so I’m ready to get going again and see what this season brings.

“Playing all our home games at The Valley is a massive milestone. The heart of this club is The Valley, and over the past year, the new owners have fostered a ‘one club’ approach.

“Moving our games here felt like the next step in our progression, bringing us home. Playing here consistently will help us grow, especially with the support of our fans. Hopefully, our fanbase will continue to grow and promote women’s football even more. The ‘one club’ approach is a significant step forward.”

Roe is the fourth player to sign a new contract with Charlton Athletic this summer.
