London City Lionesses forward Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has signed a new one-year contract with the club.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this evening.
Boye-Hlorkah joined London City Lionesses last summer after leaving Barclays Women’s Super League club Aston Villa. She went on to score five goals in 18 appearances for The Pride in the Barclays Women’s Championship. Boye-Hlorkah is an experienced player in the elite game and she will be able to help guide the young players at London City Lionesses this season.
After signing her new deal with The Pride, Boye-Hlorkah said “The Club’s ambition and where it wants to be is a huge positive and aligns with where I want to take my career. We’re aiming for promotion to the Women’s Super League and to put London City on the map.
“First of all, we need to show that we can compete in this league – but our ambition, which starts with Michele [Kang] and flows through everyone at the Club, is to win. I asked myself ‘why wouldn’t you want to be part of that?’ and knew I wanted to continue here.
“My personal goal is to help the team more than I did last season. I feel like I have more to give – we’re working towards more goals and more wins, our goal is promotion, and I hope that I can make an impact in that.”
Boye-Hlorkah is the fifth player to sign a new contract with London City Lionesses this summer.
