Everton sign Portuguese international keeper Pereira

Everton have completed the signing of Portuguese international goalkeeper Inês Pereira on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blue Girls just a short time ago.

Pereira joins Everton after recently leaving Swiss club Servette FC. The 25-year-old made 19 league appearances for her former club last season in which she kept eight clean sheets.

It has been reported that Pereira will initially be loaned out to Spanish club Deportivo de La Coruña for the 2024/2025 season before challenging for the number one jersey at Everton.

After adding Pereira to his squad, Everton manager Brian Sørensen said “Inês is a player I’ve been tracking for a while, from around the age of 18.

“We have two excellent goalkeepers with us now and Inês is one we see making an impact to our squad in the future. She has a lot of experience – playing at the EUROs and the World Cup – but she is still young and has a lot more to give.

“Inês is a talented goalkeeper, excellent with her feet, and plays with a lot of courage. One of the first things I noticed with her was her mentality, the way she conducts herself. She is a good character on the pitch and demands a lot from her teammates.

“Speaking to her, I can tell she’s a quality human-being and I’m excited to see how she gets on in her loan spell in Spain before playing for us in the future.”

Pereira is Everton’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
