Blackburn Rovers have taken up the option to extend the contract of defender Emma Taylor by a further year.
The Lancashire side announced the news via a post on their official club X account this afternoon.
Taylor spent last season with Blackburn Rovers. She made nine appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship. Taylor helped Blackburn Rovers to record a sixth-place finish in the Barclays Women’s Championship table, their highest ranking Β to date as a professional club.
The youngster spent her early years in the Blackburn Rovers Regional Talent Club (RTC) before later going on to feature for the academy sides of Barclays Women’s Super League clubs Liverpool and Manchester United. Taylor returned to Blackburn Rovers last summer to start her senior playing career. The player enjoyed a successful breakthrough campaign in 2023/2024 and she will be hoping to increase her involvement for Simon Parker’s side this term.
Taylor follows teammates Alex Brooks and Georgia Walters in signing on again with Blackburn Rovers for the new season. The club have also added former Manchester City midfielder Jemima Dahou to their squad so far during the close season. Further squad news will be announced by the club in due course.
