Crystal Palace have completed the signing of former Bristol City goalkeeper Shae Yáñez.
The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.
Yáñez joins Crystal Palace after announcing her Bristol City departure on Wednesday afternoon. The 27-year-old American keeper spent the second half of last season with The Robins. She made seven appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
In addition to her spell at Ashton Gate, Yáñez has also respresented London City Lionesses in the English game. She enjoyed a successful three-season stay with The Pride between 2020 and 2023.
After joining latest club Crystal Palace, Yáñez said “I’ve always been a big fan of Palace, so I’m excited to get started here.
“It’s just a great club in general and they have great ambition. Getting promoted, you could see the fight in them, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”
Yáñez becomes Crystal Palace’s second signing of the summer transfer window. The Eagles also added former Everton defender Katrine Veje to their squad yesterday. Head coach Laura Kaminski is expected to make several more new additions before the 2024/2025 Barclays Women’s Super League season gets underway at the end of September.
